X REFLECTION ON AND FOR PARISH FURTHER GROWTH - As we celebrate the coming down of the Holy Spirit which marked the birth of the Church, I would like to collect some thoughts, realistic proposals, ideas and projects from parishioners who which to contribute to the further growth of our parish in light of her mission. The reflection should cover from the time the two parishes became ONE. There is a questionnaire available for you to fill and return to me via the presbytery’s letter box. The starting point is that you need to inform yourself first by finding out about what is happening in the parish every week to avoid any repetition or the mistake of stating something that is being done already but you are not aware of, what are the projects and plans that are there but did not start because of the lack of volunteers to lead them.  Learn about the role of each parish Committee, the existence of Children liturgy, the altar servers, children’s summer club. Do you know that an attempt had been made several times to set up a youth group? Recruitment of Catechists and volunteers to organise youth group? How can things be improved? Please, fill the questionnaire and return the response by 21/22 June 25. Thank you.

X DOVER: A PLACE OF SANTUARY & HOPE – Come along and mark the start of Refugee Week as we celebrate our refugees and the communities who have accompanied them. It will take place on Sunday, 15 June at St Mary’s Church Hall, Cannon Street, Dover CT16 1BY, from 2pm to 4pm.

X QUEEN OF HEAVEN (LATINREGINA CAELI) – this is said throughout Eastertide from Easter Sunday through Pentecost to the seventh Sunday after Easter.

The Regina caeli is also said in place of the Angelus during Eastertide.

Queen of Heaven

V. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.
V. Has risen, as he said, alleluia.
R. Pray for us to God, alleluia.
V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
R. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.

Let us pray. O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord.  Amen.
