X THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY! - Our
parish relies on donations from parishioners to help cover the running costs.
We thank you for your generosity.
Did you know you can donate via
bank standing order? This is a quick and easy way to donate, rather than
needing to find cash on a weekly basis.
The parish bank details are:
Account Name: RCAS Folkestone
Account Number: 08605556
Sort Code: 52-41-42
Please use your name as your
reference. If you are registered for gift aid in this parish, please add your
envelope number alongside your name ie '01 Smith'.
If choosing to pay via bank standing
order, there is no need to do this on a weekly basis (unless you wish to do
so). You can consolidate your weekly donations into a single monthly donation
i.e. £10 per week would be a £40 monthly donation.
Not currently registered for
gift aid in this parish but you pay tax in the UK?
Please consider registering for
the scheme. Sign-up sheets are at the back of the church and once complete,
post through the door of the presbytery. A box of envelopes will be left for
you at the back of the church over the following couple of weeks with your name
on it. Alternatively, you can start paying via bank standing order as above.
To put your mind at rest, this
does not cost you, the donor, any more. It allows the parish to claim an
additional 25% from the government on top of your donation.
With grateful thanks, your
parish finance committee.
X RAINBOW CENTRE SPONSORED KNIT – this was held in our Parish Hall on 30th April and raised over £5000. 15 teams from all over Folkestone took part (79 knitters). Thank you to our team – Margaret Irving, Ingrid Maderni, Monica Aherne, Maureen James and Ann Berry. It is not too late to sponsor them – please give them your name and money and they will pass it on. Thanks too to all the helpers, from our parish who made the event possible.
X THANK TO ALL – who came to honour Robert Claridge and Debra Jones by your participation in their Requiem Masses. This was very much appreciated by the visitors.
X PARISH SOCIAL AND PASTORAL CARE COMMITTEE - This committee plans, promotes, facilitates and coordinates activities that bring parishioners together, to celebrate parish life. The committee focuses on social and pastoral care activities. We hold monthly meetings to plan our yearly programme. We would welcome the active support and participation of parish members. Please contact Fr. Alex or Monica Aherne for more information at monaherne@gmail.com

X QUEEN OF HEAVEN (LATIN: REGINA CAELI) –
this is said throughout Eastertide from Easter Sunday through Pentecost to the
seventh Sunday after Easter.
The Regina caeli is also said in place of the Angelus during Eastertide.
Queen of Heaven
V. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.
V. Has risen, as he said, alleluia.
R. Pray for us to God, alleluia.
V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
R. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.
Let us pray. O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
WE FLY TO THY PROTECTION
We
fly to Thy protection, O Holy Mother of God.
Do
not despise our petitions in our necessities, but
deliver us always from all dangers,
O Glorious and Blessed Virgin.
PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our
protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him,
we humbly pray; And do
thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell
Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.
