X NOVEMBER ENVELOPES FOR THE DEPARTED ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT THE BACK OF CHURCH. November is the Month of the Holy Souls, and so throughout the month we continue to keep in our liturgical prayer those special people, particular to us, who have died. 

X  ARCHBISHOP’S APPEAL SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND ON SAT 11TH / SUN 12TH NOVEMBER

The Archbishop’s Appeal is a Diocesan second collection that funds key areas of ministry: Youth and Evangelisation, Our Faith in Action (Caritas) and Clergy Care and Formation. Your support will enable the Archdiocese of Southwark to support innovative projects taking place within Catholic parishes and Schools throughout South London and Kent that seek to invest Faith, Hope and Love into the communities they serve. X THE SICK - We remember all those who are sick and housebound and that they remain in our prayers including Bob Vickery, Canon Luke Smith, Sheelagh (Mary) Crowther, Beulah Blomfield, Veronica Poulton and Margaret Woolley.

X SISTER SOPHIE PEPPER’S FUNERAL ON WEDNESDAY 8 NOVEMBER it is with much sadness that we announce the death of Sister Sophie, who died on the evening of Friday 6 October. 

Her funeral will take place this week in the church on Wednesday 8th November at 12.00 noon followed by a reception in the Hall after Mass.

X  FOLKESTONE WINTER SHELTER - The winter shelter offers accommodation, support and home-cooked food to homeless people from December 1st until the end of March.  

We need volunteers to help with cooking, befriending, and driving. Our church leads the provision on Wednesdays but volunteering can be flexible and training is provided. If you feel able to help, or would like to find out more, please contact Judy Doherty on judy.doherty59@gmail.com 

Folkestone Winter Shelter is run by Folkestone Rainbow Centre on behalf of Churches Together Folkestone. 

X KEEPING OUR HALLS CLEAN - Due to the high use of our halls, we are looking for someone to spend two hour a week in each hall to clean them. It would suit someone who is retired but active and the hours are 2 hours per week at St Jo’s hall and 2 hours at OLHoC’s hall. X PASSING ON THE FAITH AS GRANDPARENTS - what practical steps can we take and what conversations can we have which will help anchor our grandchildren’s faith? Four online sessions starting Weds evenings from November 8th, 7:30pm – 9pm.  Email Lisette on mflse@rcaos.org.uk

X RAFFLE TICKETS - Don’t forget to keep selling raffle tickets. Please return any unsold books you have so that we can redistribute them. Money, ticket stubs and unsold books can be returned by putting them through the Presbytery letter box. 

X GRAND BAZAAR on 18 November 2023 - Please place any donations for the Bazaar in the box at the back of church. Offers of help to man stalls on the day or help set up on Friday are welcome.
