X RECEPTION OF COMMUNION – only Catholics in a state of grace are allowed to receive Communion at Mass. Those who receive this in their hands should put it into their mouth before leaving the Minister.  Anyone not receiving should go to the priest, cross their arms over their chest to receive a blessing. 

X INFANT BAPTISM may only happen after undergoing a preparation with the parish priest. Baptisms can then be celebrated at either 3pm on a Saturday or 1pm on a Sunday on the 1st or 3rd Sunday of the month. 

X WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY - this year’s World Communications Day is celebrated today, Sunday, 12th May. The theme of this year is: Artificial Intelligence and the Wisdom of the Heart: Towards a Fully Human Communication. 

Artificial Intelligence is radically affecting the world of information and communication, and through it, certain foundations of life in society. (Pope Francis)

X COLLECTIONS – last weekend’s collection raised £1,109.06. The previous week (28 April) raised £632.83 and the second collection for the Priest’s Training Fund raised £322.28

X  THE POPE’S PRAYER INTENTION DURING MAY is for the formation of religious and seminarians: We pray that religious women and men, and seminarians, grow in their own vocations through their human, pastoral, spiritual and community formation, leading them to be credible witnesses to the Gospel. 

X HELP IS NEEDED IN OUR SHOP – do you have half an hour to spare to for the Parish Shop on a Sunday morning after the 9.00am Mass? Please contact Eileen who runs the shop, and is there after the 11am Sunday Mass and Masses during the week.

X  THE CELEBRATION OF THE PARISH PATRON SAINTS THIS SUNDAY 5TH MAY 2024 AT 11AM IN THE CHURCH - this year’s celebration of the parish patron saints will take place today, Sunday 5th May 2024 at 11am in the Church. 

Please note that this Mass is to bring all of us together, therefore there will be only two Masses in the parish to fulfil the Sunday Obligation. Saturday at 6.00pm and Sunday at 11.00am that will be followed by a time of celebration in the Hall where all our parishioners are encouraged to come along. Those attending the 6.00pm Mass on Saturday are also invited to join us for the celebration for all parishioners in the Hall following the 11.00am Mass on Sunday. 

X  A FILM ON THE LIFE OF ST BERNADETTE – will be shown next Saturday 11th May in the Hall at OLHoC starting at 2.00pm. Refreshments will be available. Again, please sign the sheet at the back of church if you would like to come along.

Tuesday May 21st, 7pm in the hall – A talk on Cyber Protection – stopping the scammers. Given by the Kent Police.

X  PROVISION FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF THE ASCENSION – this Thursday (9th May) is the Feast of The Ascension of the Lord, a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics to attend Mass. Therefore, please note that we will be using our Mass schedule for Holy Days with Mass at 10.45am and 7.30pm. 

Please use any of these Masses to fulfil your Obligation as it is a working day.  

X QUEEN OF HEAVEN (LATINREGINA CAELI) – this is said throughout Eastertide from Easter Sunday through Pentecost to the seventh Sunday after Easter. 

The Regina caeli is also said in place of the Angelus during Eastertide.
