X MONTHLY MONDAY CONNECT CLUB – the first meeting of the club will be Monday 3rd October 2022 at St Joseph’s Church Hall from 1.30pm to 3.45pm. 

The main purpose of the club is to allow individuals to meet up over a cup of tea and cake and get to know one another. You can play board games, knit, paint or sew or simply just natter. Many will remember the previous club for the mature and wise that used to take place before the pandemic and it is hoped that this will be a welcome return to normal.

X LAST WEEKEND’S SECOND COLLECTION raised a total of £92.77 for the work of spreading the Gospel throughout England by the Bishops of England and Wales enabling a breadth of work to be done in support of parish evangelisation. Thank you for your generosity.

Carm will lead a retreat on the 'Little Flower' between Friday 30th September - Sunday 2nd October 2022 and will encompass a reflection on the love and mercy of God through the writings of St Therese of Lisieux. X  ST BERNADETTE RELICS TOUR OF ENGLAND AND WALES - this September and October the UK will welcome the relics of St Bernadette, which will travel from the Upper Basilica in Lourdes to every Diocese in England and Wales, including the Archdiocese of Southwark. The invitation to host the relics was issued by the Shrine of Lourdes to the Bishops of England and Wales, and as part of this special tour, they will spend two days, between 19th and 20th October 2022, at St George's Cathedral, Southwark.

·         St George's Cathedral opens 7.15am

·         All Masses last approximately 30 minutes unless otherwise specified. 

·         The Relics will be closed to visitors from 12.15pm – 1.00pm to prepare for Mass on both dates, and re-opened after services.

The relics will then spend four days, between 24th until 28th October at the Carmelite Marian Shrine of Aylesford Priory in Kent. The schedule of events at the Priory is as follows: 

Monday 24th October

7.00 pm: Mass 

Tuesday 25th - Thursday 27th inclusive

12 noon: Mass

3.30 pm: Exposition & Benediction

5.00 pm: Mass followed by Torchlight Procession 

Friday 28th October

12 noon: Mass 

Confessions Daily at the Priory   

10.30 am – 11.30 am & 2.30 pm – 4.00 pm

X HELP IS NEEDED to do the tea and coffees after the 11.00am Sunday Mass.  We have temporarily stopped doing this until we can get some volunteers in place and establish a rota. If you can assist on one or two regular Sundays every month, please speak to a member of the Social Committee or to Dylan in the Parish Office. Thank you to Sara who has agreed to do second Sundays of the month. 

We also require additional help in our Catholic Gift and Book shop. Eileen works there every day it is open, assisted by Thomas occasionally on Sundays. If you can help, then have a chat with Eileen at the shop. 

X CHURCHES TOGETHER FOLKESTONE PRAYER MEETING - This is a reminder that the meeting of prayer for persecuted Christians will be happening this Sunday (25th) at 6pm at Cheriton Pentecostal Church. During the evening there will be a zoom call with a pastor in Nigeria who will share some of the difficulties faced by Christians at this time.
