X THIS WEEKEND’S SECOND COLLECTION is for Home Mission Sunday. This collection provides the Bishops of England and Wales with resources to support ‘Home Mission’, the spread of the Gospel in our own country. The money collected enables a breadth of work to be done in support of parish evangelisation. Last week’s retiring collection for Education Sunday raised £115.19 for the Catholic Education Service.

X ST PIUS OF PIETRELCINA (PADRE PIO) HEALING MASS ON FRIDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER - this Friday, any sick or elderly person who wishes to receive anointing oil and prayers, may do so at this special Mass.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick brings healing, comfort, and strength, through the grace of the Holy Spirit, to those who are sick or elderly.

X CHRISTMAS ORDERS – Eileen in the shop has requested your orders for any special Christmas gifts, cards, calenders and for advance orders for next year’s 2022 Catholic Diary (with Order of Mass). Please get your orders in now to avoid disappointment.

X APPEAL FOR ITEMS - OUR LADY & ST JOSEPH’S CHURCH BAZAAR on 29th October to be held in the OLHoC Hall. Please donate any items to help make this event as successful as possible using the box at the back of the church for items to be placed in (no clothing)  In time we will be asking for help to set up stalls, and on the day.

More details on the Bazaar will follow as things progress.

X PLEASE PRAY FOR THE REPOSE OF THE SOUL of all those who have died recently, and  all those whose anniversaries fall at this time, including amongst them: Oliver Quinn (19th September); Linda Murphy, William Robinson, Peter McMulkin (20th Sept); Carmel Heffernan, Ann  Woods (21st Sept); Kathleen Leakey (22nd Sept); Jeannette Allen, Denis Walsh (23rd Sept); Marga Wildman, Pauline Davies, Kathleen Hill, Frances White (24th Sept) and Julie Young, Phillip Powell, Shaun Solway, Marian White (25th Sept).

X FR CAPENER’S REMEMBRANCE BOOKthis week is the last call for those who have not yet signed it to do so. The book is available to sign in the OLHoC Hall.

X HELP IS NEEDED to do the tea and coffees after the 11.00am Sunday Mass.  We have temporarily stopped doing this until we can get some volunteers in place and establish a rota. If you can assist on one or two regular Sundays every month, please speak to a member of the Social Committee or to Dylan in the Parish Office.

We also require additional help in our Catholic Gift and Book shop. Eileen works there every day it is open, assisted by Thomas occasionally on Sundays. If you can help, then have a chat with Eileen at the shop.

X CATHOLIC HERALD AND POST – at the start of each month, new copies of the Catholic Herald are available to purchase at £5 from either the shop or by taking one of the few copies at the back of the church at OLHoC and putting your money in the box above the stoop marked ‘papers’.

We also get copies of the Catholic Post for all parishioners and these are available from the back of the church at OLHoC or the entrance porch at St Joseph’s.

They are free to all, but if you would like to make a voluntary contribution, please do so in the box marked ‘papers’ at either OLHoC or St Joseph’s.

X PARISH COMMITTEES help the Parish Priest with his work in the parish. If you would like to know more about how these committees work and would like to be considered for membership of any of them and get more involved in our parish, then please speak to the committee officers and the Parish Priest.
