FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND RECONCILIATION: This week nearly 30 children are beginning their journey for first Holy Communion and Reconciliation. In these strange and difficult times, their journey and studies will be done at home with the family every week with group meetings once we are able to do so and all the summaries collected by Fr Alex for marking.

The programme will run until mid-July when all the children will celebrate the Sacrament of FIRST HOLY COMMUNION together at Our Lady Help of Christians on Sunday 11th July, 2021.

Then they will join their respective Churches of Our Lady or St Joseph’s, for a second celebration where they have attended Mass with their family members most of the time during their preparation programme, and this will be held on Sunday 18th July, 2021. Please pray for them on their journey to grow in their faith and celebrate the sacrament of First Holy Communion.

We have now received the books accompanying the first part of each candidate’s studies. These can be collected from the Presbytery at Our Lady Help of Christians any day immediately after Mass.

STOP DIY ABORTIONS

Respond to Department of Health consultation to stop home abortions:

The Department of Health is holding a consultation on whether to continue the practice of sending dangerous abortion pills to women to undergo abortions at home. We need as many pro-life people as possible to complete the Department of Health's questionnaire in order to stop dangerous DIY abortions becoming permanent. SPUC has prepared a briefing which gives a step-by-step guide to completing the questionnaire.

The consultation ends on 26th of February Please go to

THE ANGELUS

V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary, etc...

V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R. Be it done unto me according to Your Word.
Hail Mary, etc...

V. And the Word was made flesh,
R. And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary, etc...

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray:
Pour forth, we beseech You, O Lord,
Your Grace into our hearts;
that as we have known the incarnation of Christ,
your Son by the message of an angel,
so by His passion and cross
we may be brought to the glory of His Resurrection.
Through the same Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

WE FLY TO THY PROTECTION

We fly to Thy protection, O Holy Mother of God.
Do not despise our petitions in our necessities,
but deliver us always from all dangers,
O Glorious and Blessed Virgin.

HAIL, HOLY QUEEN

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.
