Sunday 22nd October 2023 Next Sunday is World Mission Sunday, when the Holy Father invites all Catholics to contribute to a special collection for Missio, his charity for world mission. Please support Missio in helping missionaries to work alongside communities throughout the world that are poor or in need, regardless of their background or belief. Join in on this special day, that unites Catholics all over the world in prayer and celebration of our Church’s mission to share God’s love with all people. You can use the envelopes provided to Gift Aid your donation.

We thank all the parents who returned their child’s form for their child to enable them to prepare for these two sacraments. 

Once the Catechists have met, you will be sent a notice informing you about when the programme will start in October 2023.

Time: 9.30am - 4pm 

X THE CATHOLIC WOMEN PRAYING TOGETHER TEAM was set up after the Catholic Women of the Year reached the 50th Anniversary. On 15 November a Mass will be offered by Canon Michael Branch at 2pm in St George's Cathedral, Southwark. 

The theme this year is "Affirming the Church’s Message on Marriage and Family Life?”.  After Mass there will be light refreshments for which a modest donation would be gratefully received. 

X DEATH OF SISTER SOPHIE PEPPERit is with much sadness that we announce the death of Sister Sophie, who died on the evening of Friday 6 October. Further details regarding the funeral arrangements will follow in due course. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

X THE SICK - We remember all those who are sick and housebound and that they remain in our prayers including Canon Luke Smith, Sheelagh (Mary) Crowther, Beulah Blomfield, and Veronica Poulton. 

X REMEMBRANCE SERVICE - All who have lost a loved one are invited to attend a special  remembrance service at OLHoC on Saturday 4 November at 1.00 pm.   Please bring anything that you hold in memory of your loved one. Refreshments will be provided in the church hall of Our Lady Help of Christians after the service. 

X GRAND BAZAAR on 18 November 2023

Donation of items:  This week in particular we are looking for donations of NEW GIFTS. Any gifts you have received that you can donate or raffle prizes you don’t want - please place in the box at the back of church. Offers of help to man stalls on the day or help set up the day before are welcome. Please put you name on the sign-up sheet again at the back of church. X COLLECTIONS – last week’s collection raised £732.22 and the second collection for the CAFOD Family Harvest Appeal raised £473.54. Thank you for your generosity. 

X NATIONAL MASS COUNT 2023 – the attendance at Mass on Sunday will be counted and submitted to the General Secretary of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales towards building the figures for the National Mass Count 2023.
