X FRIDAY 7TH JULY 2023 AT 7.30PM - MASS at Canterbury Cathedral by kind permission of the Dean and Chapter for the Feast of the Translation of St Thomas a Becket with Principal Celebrant: The Right Reverend Paul Hendricks, Auxiliary Bishop for the Kent Area. Mass will be followed by Light Refreshments in the Chapter House.
On July 7th 1220, the remains of the body of St Thomas a Becket were
translated to a magnificent shrine in the Cathedral’s new Trinity Chapel. Present were the young king Henry III ;
chief justiciar, Hugh de Burgh; the papal legate, Pandulf; Stephan Langton,
Archbishop of Canterbury; the Bishop of Reims and most of the bishops of
England and Wales.

X OUR LADY HELP OF CHRISTIANS and ST JOSEPH'S FLOWER FESTIVAL

Our Church has been beautifully
decorated this week with flowers honouring God and the Saints. It really is
colourful and the scent of the flowers and greenery is amazing and looks quite
spectacular! Thank you to everyone who is helping with the event arranging the
flowers, meeting and greeting people and putting on the lunches.
X FLOWER FESTIVAL PLOUGHMAN’S LUNCH – Sunday 2nd July 12.45pm to 2.30pm. Tickets are priced £5.00 and available from Anne Berry or Margaret Irving.
X CHURCHES TOGETHER CELEBRATION OF AFRICA DAY - through Churches Together Folkestone, we are invited as a parish to join a Celebration of Africa Day at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, St. Michael's Street, Folkestone on July 15th from 11am to 3pm.
The event includes a service of prayer and praise for Africa and an opportunity to sample African cuisine at a shared lunch.
X CHILDREN'S HOLIDAY CLUB - You will be delighted to know that the Holiday Club will take place again this year at St. Joseph's. Starting Tuesday, August 1st from 10am - 4pm, there will be lots of activities, fun and games for Children aged 5yrs -14yrs. Application forms are available at the back of the church. PECKHAM SATURDAY 15TH JULY - the
Norbertine community in Peckham is holding a Vocations Day for young men to
visit their priory and discover more about the life of a Norbertine canon. The
“Come and See Day” will take place on Saturday 15th July from 10am-4pm. If you
are thinking about a vocation and are curious about the Norbertine Order and
