X THERE ARE STILL A FEW LAST PLACES REMAINING FOR THE PARISH CHILDREN’S SUMMER HOLIDAY CLUB TAKING PLACE ON TUESDAYS IN AUGUST for children aged 5 to 14 years old taking place from 10.00am until 4.00pm on Tuesday 9th, 16th and 23rd August at St Joseph’s Hall.
It’s led by volunteers who are fully DBS checked and includes lunch, snacks and many activities and is free to attend!
The themes for each
week are as follows:

August: Cooking followed by a film.

16th
August: Music, singing and dance.
· 23rd August: Gardening followed by a film.

X OUR LADY & ST JOSEPH’S 100 CLUB SUMMER DRAW! – The Summer Draw will take place on Sunday 14th August with a guaranteed cash prize of £100. New membership forms for the 100 Club are now available so please consider joining this excellent fundraising activity for our parish and forms for the 2022/2023 are at the back of each church. It costs £25.00 per number per year. New members are very welcome (and you can have as many numbers as you like!).

X SPECIAL LUNCH AT OUR LADY, HELP OF CHRISTIAN’S CHURCH HALL ON SUNDAY 21ST AUGUST at 12.30pm followed by a talk about the new Folkestone Fishing Museum at Folkestone Harbour given by Alan Taylor.
Tickets are £5 each and available now from Ann Berry or Margaret Irving.
X WELCOME BACK FATHER LOUIS – Fr Alex has gone on holiday for a well-earned rest and we welcome back Fr Louis for the month of August, who will be taking on all parish priest duties during this period.
X FR FRANCIS CAPENER RIP (1931-2022) – thank you to all those who assisted in the masses, stewarding, flowers and receptions afterward.
The collection at the end for his chosen charities raised over £300 and this will be equally divided between Bees for Development and Aid to the Church in Need.
We continue to keep Fr Capener and his family in our prayers and commend his soul to the Lord. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
