X WHO IS WATCHING
US? – since we began live
streaming of our Masses, initially brought in at the start of the Covid
pandemic, we have had 85,469 unique viewers, that is different known viewers
watching from 93 different countries around the world. Although the number is
now dropping off as we return home to our churches, there have still been
13,383 unique viewers watching since the start of the year from 56 countries.
We still have around 50
unique viewers who watch Mass for at least one hour each week and we regularly
get over 100+ unique viewers who tune in to watch funerals that take place at
OLHoC. This service has proved a vital link to so many and we would like to
continue to keep it but it costs over £1 per month. Are you able to assist with
a small contribution to these costs? Please give what you can afford to our
special second collection for the cost of live streaming that we are holding
over the next two weeks to continue to get the world of God out there to those
who still cannot make it to church or who follow our work from further afield.
X A DAY WITH MARY - St George’s Cathedral in
Southwark will be hosting 'A Day with Mary' on Saturday 27 August 2022, between
10.15 am and 5.15 pm.
This will be a day of
instruction, devotion, and intercession, based on the message given at Fatima
in 1917, involving the celebration of Mass, Exposition, and Procession of the
Blessed Sacrament. There will also be a Procession of Our Lady, the Holy
Rosary and other devotions, and sermons by visiting priests. Confessions will
be available throughout the day and a full schedule will be available shortly so
please save the date.
X CHRISTMAS ORDERS – Eileen in the shop
has requested orders for any special Christmas gifts and for advance orders for
next year’s 2022 Catholic Diary (with Order of Mass), which is available in the
usual colours. Please talk to them in the shop about your orders or
preferences.
X FR JOHN HARTLEY

X A BIG THANK YOU
to some
of our local councillors who provided funding for our Parish’s Summer Holiday
Club. Ann Berry from Folkestone and Hythe District Council provided £300.00,
and Rory Love and Dylan Jeffrey from Kent County Council provided a further
total of £1,500.00.
A massive thank you also goes to all the volunteers who
took part and to the members of the Parish’s Pastoral and Social Committee who
oversaw the project. It is hoped that this will be the forerunner for future
children’s clubs in our parish. Without the support of all involved it would
not have been possible to put the club on for our children. A big THANK YOU
once again to all involved.
