X OUR LADY & ST JOSEPH’S 100 CLUB SUMMER DRAW! – The Summer Draw has taken place and the winner of £100 is Kathleen Lynch with lucky number 26. New membership forms for the 100 Club for the next year are now available so please consider joining this excellent fundraising activity for our parish and forms for the 2022/2023 are at the back of each church.

It costs £25.00 per number per year.

New members are very welcome (and you can have as many numbers as you like!).

X MARCH FOR LIFE ON 3 SEPTEMBER – there is a pro-life event organised by 'March for Life UK' who campaign to raise awareness on the issue of abortion. 

On Saturday 3rd September there will be a protest championing the right to life of the unborn child held in London. This is an important cause so the more parishioners who can attend the better. Archbishop John Wilson will be attending. 

The itinerary for the day is:

  • 10:30am - meet at 9-23 Emmanuel Centre, Marsham Street, London, SW1P 3DW 
  • 11am - a Catholic Mass will then be held at St. George's Cathedral Southwark 
  • 2pm - the march will take place at from the Emmanuel Centre and will end at Parliament Square at 4:30pm.  

The nearest tubes to the Emmanuel Centre are St James’ Park and Westminster, which are just a short walk away.  You can see it on the map from their website by using the following link: https://www.emmanuelcentre.com/location

X CHRISTMAS ORDERS – Eileen in the shop has requested orders for any special Christmas gifts and for advance orders for next year’s 2022 Catholic Diary (with Order of Mass), which is available in the usual colours. Please talk to them in the shop about your orders or preferences. 

X TWO YEARS – we welcome back Fr Alex on 7 September when he will be celebrating two years as our Parish Priest.  Whilst he has been on a well-earned rest Fr Louis took on all the duties and we extend our thanks and blessings for his pastoral care during this time and look forward to seeing him again soon.

X LONDON MARATHON FUNDRAISING IN OUR PARISH FOR THE CATHOLIC CHILDREN'S SOCIETY - Maria Felicetti, the Year 1 teacher at Stella Maris School and one of the parent governors and regular attender at OLSJ, Nicola Fletcher, are running the London Marathon on Sunday 2nd October to raise money for the Catholic Children's Society (CCS).  The CCS helped many of our children and their families over the pandemic and continue to support disadvantaged children across the UK.

X PARISH CURRY LUNCH – is at St Joseph’s Church Hall on Sunday 4th September. Ticets are a very reasonable £6 per head, so get yours now for curry and a chat. Tickets are available from Margaret Irving or Ann Berry. 

X KENT RIDE AND STRIDE – is taking place on Saturday 11th September at both Our Lady and St Joseph’s churches when we will open for riders and striders. There is a parish sponsorship form at the back of the church at OLHoC or you can give your sponsorship money to Sara Adams or Steve Press to go into the parish efforts.
