X THE PARISH UCM - I want to take this opportunity to thank our parish UCM for the many years of service given to the parish. Sadly, there are no young blood to continue their valuable work, therefore they are closing.
On behalf of all the parishioners and all the Clergy of the parish who have benefitted from their ministry, I wish them all well and look forward to seeing them involved individually in the parish life in one shape or other.
X FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CARDS/GIFTS – a wide selection of First Holy Communion cards and gifts are now available from the Parish Gift Shop.
X RECEPTION OF COMMUNION – only Catholics in a state of grace are allowed to receive Communion at Mass. Those who receive this in their hands should put it into their mouth before leaving the Minister. Anyone not receiving should go to the priest, cross their arms over their chest to receive a blessing.
X INFANT BAPTISM may only happen after undergoing a preparation with the parish priest. Baptisms can then be celebrated at either 3pm on a Saturday or 1pm on a Sunday on the 1st or 3rd Sunday of the month.
X MAUREEN HOUGHTON RIP. THANK YOU, WE SHALL ALL MISS YOU.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Mrs Maureen Houghton who passed away peacefully last Sunday, 26th May, after a short illness.
Remember also her husband Fr. Jamie Houghton in your prayers as he mourns the loss of his wife of many years. Her funeral is scheduled for 18th June 2024 at 11am at St. Paul’s Dover, Maison Dieu Road, Dover CT16 1RU. May she rest in peace.
X COLLECTIONS – last weekend’s
collection raised £689.17. We also received a very kind donation of £500 to the
Parish Building Fund to mark a birthday. Thank you for your generosity.

Next Saturday 8th June, 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Our Lady Help of Christians Church Hall. Most gardeners grow more seedlings and plants than they need. Please, donate your surplus plants and seedlings to the plant fair. Kindly, leave them outside by the door of the Church Hall. Thank you and see you at the fair. X SUMMERTIME 2024: 29th July – 1st August: Altar Servers Trip to Westminster Pastoral Centre, £189. For aged 11-16. We commend this excellent residential trip for altar servers and those who regularly attend mass on the weekend. In an event that has now gone on for more than 20 years, it is a few days for deepening one’s catholic faith, in a great social atmosphere, including football, sports and visit to Thorpe Park. X DISCERNMENT WORKSHOPS 11TH JUNE, 25TH JUNE - A series of online workshops looking at the principles and practice of Ignatian Discernment. Open to young adults (who are in their 20s and 30s).
In these workshop we
will consider what Ignatian spirituality teaches us about clarifying our
choices, ways of listening to God's Spirit in our lives and discerning the way
