To note: The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Registered Incorporated Charity Number 1173050). Thus, parishes of the Archdiocese are bound by the terms of the England & Wales the Charities Act 2011. The Charity Commission for England & Wales directs that “Charities must remain independent and must not give their support to a political party” as purely partisan political activity is not a charitable purpose. Likewise, The Electoral Commission mandates: “Charities must remain independent of party politics and must not support a political party or candidate or create a perception of support as a result of their actions or participation.”

 

Please note that there is an election hustings event being held at St Leonard’s Anglican Church in Hythe on Monday 1st July 2024 commencing at 6.30pm where you will have an opportunity to meet and put questions to the candidates and listen to responses. 

X RECEPTION OF COMMUNION – only Catholics in a state of grace are allowed to receive Communion at Mass. Those who receive this in their hands should put it into their mouth before leaving the Minister.  Anyone not receiving should go to the priest, cross their arms over their chest to receive a blessing. 

X INFANT BAPTISM may only happen after undergoing a preparation with the parish priest. Baptisms can then be celebrated at either 3pm on a Saturday or 1pm on a Sunday on the 1st or 3rd Sunday of the month. 

X COLLECTIONS – last weekend’s collection raised £698.96. The retiring collection for Day for Life 2024 raised £306.49. Thank you for your generosity.

X A MEETING OF THE PARISH BEREAVEMENT GROUP will take place in the OLHC hall, on Saturday 13th July, at 1.00pm. 

X ARCHDIOCESE OF SOUTHWARK YOUTH DAY - Youth Day The next Youth Day of the Archdiocese of Southwark is going to be held on 6 July at St. John Fisher School, Chatham. We encourage parents and youth ministers to bring children ages 10-14 to this event, which will be a day packed with catechesis, games, sports, crafts, music, and adoration. X DIVINE MERCY RETREAT - The Divine Mercy Apostolate, London is holding a retreat on Saturday 20 July 2024 from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm at St Sebastian and St Pancras R.C. Church22 Hay Lane, Kingsbury NW9 0NG.

X  STELLA MARIS (APOSTLESHIP OF THE SEA) - ANNUAL APPEAL on 14 July 2024 The Catholic maritime charity Stella Maris (formerly called Apostleship of the Sea) is very grateful for this parish’s prayers and financial support of its work on Sea Sunday last year.
