X  ALL SAINTS DAY is on Friday 1st November.  On this day of Holy Obligation, we will be having Mass at 10.45am and 7.30pm.

X  ALL SOULS DAY is on Saturday 2nd November. This is the Commemoration of all the faithful departed, when we remember and pray for the whole company of the faithful who have passed from this world - the great multitude of the “Holy Common People of God” the Plebs Sancta Dei - the unknown saints, the holy people, the good, the bad and the indifferent - all those baptized into the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and Church of God, and made heirs of the Kingdom. These are the People of God, who are more or less like us in any parish community, and have been throughout the history of the Church. On All Souls, Mass will be at the usual time of 10.00am.

X NOVEMBER ENVELOPES FOR THE DEPARTED ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT THE BACK OF CHURCH. November is the Month of the Holy Souls, and so throughout the month we continue to keep in our liturgical prayer those special people, particular to us, who have died.

A plenary indulgence, applicable only to Holy Souls, may be gained once in any church either on All Souls Day, on the preceding or following Sunday or on the Feast of All Saints, on the usual conditions, viz a visit to a church, where Our Father and Creed are recited, sacramental confession, Holy Communion and prayer for the Holy Father’s intention.

X REMEMBRANCE SERVICE - All who have lost a loved one are invited to attend the parish remembrance service on Saturday 2nd November at 2.00pm. Please bring anything that you hold in memory of your loved one with you and this will be placed on the altar during Mass. Refreshments will be available in the Church Hall after Mass.

X REQUEIM MASSES THIS WEEK

·         SUCHADA ROBINSON RIP ON WEDENSDAY 30TH OCTOBER AT 2.00PM

·         ROBERT JONES RIP IS ON THURSDAY 31ST OCTOBER AT 10.00AM

Please remember Suchada and Robert in your prayers and may they rest in peace and rise in glory.

X WE PRAY FOR THE SICK - We remember all those who are sick or housebound and that they remain in our prayers including, Stacy Rodrigues, Amanda De Pulford, Ann Robinson, Uzo Mbanugo, Bob & Tess Vickery, Canon Luke Smith, Beulah Blomfield, John Lodge, Veronica Poulton, Margaret Woolley, Angelo Strinati, and all those who have asked for our prayers.

X  ASSISTED SUICIDE BILL – the Bill is currently going through Parliament and will be voted on by MPs on the 29 November. We know that assisted suicide laws in other jurisdictions have had devastating consequences for the poor, disabled and marginalised. This is the biggest threat to the vulnerable in years. We must lobby our MPs. Act now by contacting your MP by visiting www.livesworthliving.org.uk or going to https://righttolife.org.uk/ASthreat

X COULD YOU SHARE YOUR FAITH?  The Parish is looking for people to become involved in active ministry. We are looking for parishioners to become involved in Children's Liturgy, First Holy Communion, Confirmation Formation and Adult Formation. Find out more about our Catechist team and contact Fr. Alex.

X RECEPTION OF COMMUNION – only Catholics in a state of grace are allowed to receive Communion at Mass. Those who receive this in their hands should put it into their mouth before leaving the Minister.  Anyone not receiving should go to the priest, cross their arms over their chest to receive a blessing.

X THE CATHOLIC CERTIFICATE IN RELIGIOUS STUDIES - The CCRS is a knowledge-based, internationally recognised qualification that provides participants with an understanding of the teachings of the Catholic faith.  It enhances the understanding that education within the Church is a life-long process which leads to greater intimacy with Jesus Christ.  This course presents the basic foundational teachings of the Catholic Church in a manner that is captivating, inspiring, and applicable.  The CCRS is designed and intended to support the Archbishop’s vision of missionary parishes and schools by cultivating an evangelistic spirit.  Participants will be equipped to make an informed and practical contributions to their chosen field of ministry within the Church.

Please visit https://aec.rcaos.org.uk/ccrs for further information. Closing date for applicants this year is 4th November 2024.

X PARISH BAZAAR – This will take place on Saturday 9th November 2024. Please put the date in your diary.
