X RECEPTION OF HOLY COMMUNION DURING MASS – Only Catholics in state of grace receive communion
during Mass. The priest/minister raises the host slightly and shows it to each
of the communicants, saying The Body of Christ; Response: Amen.
Those Christians who are not in full communion with the Catholic Church and Roman Catholics not able to receive Holy Communion are welcome to receive a blessing. Those wishing to receive a blessing are asked to approach the priest with their arms crossed over their chess. Those receiving Holy Communion in your hands please put it in your mouth before leaving the minister/priest.

X HOW FILL MASS INTENTION ENVELOPES – As you fill the envelope to ask for a Mass to be said, please write the full name of the person after Intention of Mass for e.g. George Smith RIP, even if he is one of your parents, relatives and friends, do not write for my Dad, Mum, brother, girlfriend, boyfriend and so forth. Likewise, if the Mass is for several people, e.g. do write down: for the decease members of Smith family, for the wellbeing of the members of Smith family and so forth. Thank you for your help with this simple and trivial matter.
X RESPONSORIAL PSALM AT 11AM MASS – From now on, we will practice the response to the psalm at 11am Mass, a minute or so it will take, and this before the Angelus starts. This will enable us all to give our response to the first reading which, according to the spirit of the liturgy, it is the role of the whole gathered assembly. Let us all join in the effort of making this a great success in our parish for the glory of our God who speaks to us when scriptures are proclaimed during the Liturgy.
X SOCIETY OF
ST VINCENT DE PAUL APPEAL – If
you are considering donating to a charity this advent - please consider the
SVP. The SVP receives referrals from Social Services, Health agencies, Homeless
agencies and others to help local people. This year we have supplied white
goods, flooring, furniture, help with rent arrears and more, to people in need.
We have also given supermarket vouchers to families needing some extra help
this Christmas. We are in no doubt that referrals will continue. Your donation
would be much appreciated. Please place in an envelope marked SVP through the
Presbytery letterbox. Thank you.
HAIL HOLY QUEEN
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.
WE FLY TO THY PROTECTION
We
fly to Thy protection, O Holy Mother of God.
Do
not despise our petitions in our necessities, but
deliver us always from all dangers,
O Glorious and Blessed Virgin.
PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.
