X OFFETORY AND FINANCE – In recent weeks we have not published the collection as so many of our parishioners have now moved over to regular monthly standing orders so the figures do not include everyone’s giving. We will therefore be publishing the monthly figures around two weeks after the close of the monthly period once all accounts have been updated. For information purposes, the collection in church last week of cash and cheques was £592.54 with an additional £131.00 in card payments made using the machine reader located at the back of the church at OLHoC.
THANK
YOU for your continued generosity in supporting your Parish.
X GIFT AID – If you would like to join the Parish Gift Aid scheme, whereby we get an additional 25% of your donations from the Government if you are a UK taxpayer, then please contact the parish office or speak to George Pound, our Gift Aid co-ordinator, so we can get you set up.

X JOB VACANCY – THE PRISON ADVICE AND CARE TRUST (PACT) are currently seeking a Volunteering Manager. Through the new Faith in Action programme ‘Just People’, they are seeking to provide opportunities for Catholics, Christians and whole parish communities to explore and deepen their faith and sense of lived discipleship by connecting people with opportunities to serve as volunteers. Their aim is to provide practical support and accompaniment for people who are often marginalised and excluded.
The charity are seeking a person of faith who has an understanding of the Church alongside a strong commitment to Catholic Social Teaching. They should also be a good communicator with project planning and implementation experience. Working across a number of dioceses, the successful candidate will liaise closely with volunteering and management colleagues across the London and South East region, specifically in the dioceses of Westminster, Southwark and Arundel and Brighton.

X PLEASE REMEMBER IN YOUR PRAYERS - Let us pray for those who have died recently, especially Austin Duncan and Ray Smith and for all those whose anniversaries fall at this time, including amongst them Luhana Rafaela, Vincent Quinn, Mary Carmel Lodge, Jan Cobak, John Spicer, John William Wrigley, Ellen Townsend, Edita Taragosova, Elizabeth Harmer, that they, with all the faithful departed, may rest in peace.
X TRAINING DAY FOR CHILDREN’S LITURGY VOLUNTEERS – Thursday 24th July in Parish Hall at OLHoC.
X FOOD BANK – Thank you to all those who continue to give to the Food
Bank via the orange bin in the church porch at OLHoC, the box at the rear of St
Joseph’s and at Stella Maris Catholic Primary School.
X ALTAR SERVERS - We are now looking at bringing back Altar Servers, starting with Mass on Sundays. Altar servers assist the priest and the deacon and may carry the cross, the candles, the thurible, the bread, the wine, and the water.
The role of an Altar Server is integral to the celebration of Mass and should be mature enough to understand their responsibilities and to carry them out well with reverence. They should also have already received Holy Communion for the first time and receive the Eucharist whenever they take part in the liturgy. If you are interested, please let Fr Alex know via email on folkestone@rcaos.org.uk so that you may receive proper formation before beginning your ministry as an Altar Server.

WE FLY TO THY
PROTECTION –
We fly to Thy protection, O
Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our petitions in our necessities, but
deliver us always from all dangers,
O Glorious and Blessed Virgin.
X
PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL -
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the
devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of
God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world
for the ruin of souls. Amen.
