X EASTER OFFERING – This weekend’s collection is for the Easter Offering, which is your personal offering to Fr Alex. If you are unable to put a contribution in the collection, then envelopes are available at the back of the church for you to put into the collection baskets or to put through the Presbytery door at 41 Guildhall Street.

X PARISH SECRETARY VACANCY - Despite the fact that we have started the interviews, we would be pleased to hear from anyone who may have missed the deadline to also come forward, especially Parishioners with relevant office, secretarial and administration experience to assist our Parish Priest with the smooth running of our Parish. This is a part time role requiring two 4-hour shifts a week, 10am – 2pm on a Monday and on a Friday, although there may be some flexibility for the right candidate. Payment will be £10.42/hour from 5th April 2023. This is an interesting, varied and rewarding job, involving secretarial, financial data entry, purchasing, office organisation and management, along with Parish committee and volunteer liaison.

Anyone interested in discussing or learning more about this opportunity, are encouraged to kindly contact Fr Alex on either 01303 252823 or by email at folkestone@rcaos.org.uk.

X COLLECTIONS a total of £880.35 was raised at the cash collection for last weekend. In addition a total of £21.15 was raised from the coffee morning.

Thank you for your generosity.

X PLEASE NOTE THE REVISED DATE for ST JOSEPH’S SOCIAL CLUB AGM of Saturday 15th April at St Joseph’s Hall starting at 12.00 noon with a buffet lunch.

X DO YOU PAY TAX ON YOUR EARNINGS? Something we don’t enjoy but we have to do. Well the good news is that if you do pay tax you can join the Gift Aid scheme where the parish can claim your tax back on what you give to the church. This is only possible if you become part of our Gift Aid scheme. It will not cost you a penny but for every pound you give, the parish will get an additional 20p from the Government. If you’re interested, please talk to Dylan, George or enquire at the office for a Gift Aid form.

X THE BEACON+ COMMUNITY CAFÉ will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this week - closed for the bank holiday.

X RAINBOW SPONSORED KNIT – Thank you to everyone who has come forward to represent our Parish in the sponsored knit to raise funds for The Rainbow Centre – we have 12 knitters! Also to the people who are volunteering to serve refreshments and count money. You can play your part by sponsoring our knitters – there is a sponsor form at the back of the church. Thank you very much.

X A VERY BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped prepare the church over the Triduum and Easter: the flower ladies deserve especial thanks for their amazing devotion to the task of decorating the church; and so do the Choir and our Organist, Mark de Pulford, for all their efforts, it really was a beautiful sound in our church. Thank you to all the members of our Parish Committees who played their part in making everything run so smoothly, especially to Ellen for all her hard work arranging Readers and the Watch Vigil on Holy Thursday. Thank you to all those who serve on the altar and to those who meet and greet in the church. Thank you to Elizabeth and all those who help with cleaning. Finally thank you to our Sacristans, to George for counting our collections and to Dylan and Sara for helping out in the office whilst we go through some local administrative changes.

X QUEEN OF HEAVEN (LATINREGINA CAELI) – this is said throughout Eastertide from Easter Sunday through Pentecost to the seventh Sunday after Easter.

The Regina caeli is also said in place of the Angelus during Eastertide.

Queen of Heaven

V. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.

V. Has risen, as he said, alleluia.
R. Pray for us to God, alleluia.

V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
R. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.

Let us pray. O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord.

Amen.
