Please note that the Bishops of England and Wales have decreed ‘Virtual viewing’ of Mass does not fulfil the Sunday Obligation. The streaming is for the sick housebound and people in care homes and hospitals.
Bishop
Paul Hendricks will be holding his canonical visitation to our Parish next week
3rd -4th October 2026.
This is
an opportunity for the bishop to be with the parishioners, pray with them,
listen to them, talk to them, meet with them and above all confirm and
encourage them. He will start with two meetings on Saturday 3rd
October from 15h-16h15 with the Parish Finance and Properties Committee.

Parish Representatives Group (PRG), 18h Mass. Sunday 4th October
9ham Mass; 11ham Mass, 13h-14h Meeting open to all the parishioners, and
14h15-15h15 a meeting with Sisters of the Congregation of Our Lady of Fidelity.
Any sick and housebound parishioners who would like to benefit from such visit
please let Fr. Alex know and he will insert you into the Bishop’s timetable for
the visitation. Please, keep the Bishop and our Parish in your prayers.

X FR PRAIZ
On your behalf I wish to thank Fr. Praiz for
looking after you during my annual leave. You have all enjoyed and benefitted
from short his ministry here in the parish. We wish him a safe return as he
leaves us on 30th September 2026 to resume his studies, and look
forward to welcoming him again in the nearest future. Fr. Praiz, THANK YOU.
X RECEPTION OF HOLY COMMUNION DURING MASS – Only Catholics in state of grace receive communion
during Mass. The priest/minister raises the host slightly and shows it to each
of the communicants, saying The Body of
Christ; Response: Amen.
Those Christians who are not in full
communion with the Catholic Church and Roman Catholics not able to receive Holy
Communion are welcome to receive a blessing. Those wishing to receive a
blessing are asked to approach the priest with their arms crossed over their
chest. Those receiving Holy Communion in your hands please put it in your mouth
before leaving the minister/priest.

APPEAL THIS HARVEST – 4th OCTOBER
Please
support our Family Fast Day collection and help communities facing shortages of
food and safe water. Your gift can help children like Tayla in Zimbabwe stay in
school through improved access to water, nutritious school meals, and school
gardens.

X INFANT BAPTISM – If at least one of the parents has been baptised and Confirmed Catholic, then the family in question is qualified to have their child/children baptised.
May only happen after undergoing a
preparation with the parish priest. Baptisms can then be celebrated at either
3pm on a Saturday or 1pm on a Sunday on the 1st or 3rd
Sunday of the month. Please note the preparation for infant Baptism will take
place every second Sunday of the month in the Hall at 13h (1.00pm).

X KENT CHURCHES RIDE AND STRIDE EVENT – took
place on Saturday 12th September. Thank you to Sandra and Glyn
Hibbert who spent time in Church welcoming participants. We had a total of 30
people call in at the church during the day.

Grand Draw
The tickets for the Grand Draw
will go on sale shortly and we are looking for donations for raffle
prizes. If you have a good quality item worth over £10 and are happy to
donate this for the raffle please leave your item at the back of Church
and mark it as a Raffle Prize. The draw will take place during the Bazaar
and all winners will be notified. The Pastoral Social Committee is
grateful for your support.

PRAY? HOW DO WE BUILD A BETTER, MORE FULFILLING RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD?
You
are warmly invited to join an experiential programme called Teach Me to Pray
facilitated by Southwark Diocesan Spirituality Commission. The programme
will be online on Tuesdays, starting 6th October from 7pm to 8.15pm. Following
4 online sessions there is an invitation to conclude the programme with an
in-person Reflection Day in a diocesan Retreat Centre on 5th or 12th December.
There is no commitment to attend all sessions – join us whenever you can.

X HOW TO FILL OUT MASS INTENTION ENVELOPES – When you
complete the envelope asking for a Mass to be said, please write the full name
of the person after Intention of Mass for
e.g. George Smith RIP, even if he is one of your parents, relatives and
friends, do not write for my Dad, Mum, brother, girlfriend, boyfriend and so
forth. Likewise, if the Mass is for several people e.g., do write down: for the
deceased members of the Smith family, or for the wellbeing of the members of
the Smith family and so forth. Thank you for your help with this simple and
important matter.
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of
mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor
