X PENTECOST NOVENA ON THE CARE FOR CREATION - The God Who Speaks team has produced an excellent range of prayers and readings drawn from the Bible and Papal Teaching entitled 'The river does not divide us'. The Novena is intended to take place between 16th - 24th May, incorporating the period of Ascension to Pentecost. It is available to download from:
The Novena can also be used to complement Thy Kingdom Come: a global prayer initiative calling Christians of all denominations to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus. This is available at https://www.thykingdomcome.global/
As Christians we are inspired to be good stewards of the earth, to
conserve and protect God’s creation and the earth’s resources. The CBCEW are pleased to share a
significant amount of work on the environment at:

X SUNDAY 16TH MAY 2021 IS DESIGNATED AS THE 54TH WORLD COMMUNICATIONS
DAY, the
theme of which is 'Come and See-Communicating by Encountering
People as they are'.
'Come
and See’ were the words of the Apostle Philip as
Nathaniel asked him 'Can anything good come out of Nazareth?'
(John 1.46) 'Come and See' is also an invitation to experience life
and to encounter people where they are. It is perhaps in this way that
authentic communication might readily flourish.
Please make a donation to the
retiring collection for the Catholic Communications Network. The Media Team at the Bishops' Conference in
England and Wales lead the way with vital communications through their website,
social media, mailings, videos and photographs. They aim to foster positive
links with dioceses and press, helping to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ
and promote the Church in all areas of life. During the pandemic they
have continued to be an invaluable resource, as the Church has collectively
embraced digital mission.
On World Communications Day,
we take up the command of Jesus to preach the Good News of the Gospel to the
whole world.
X QUEEN OF HEAVEN (LATIN: REGINA CAELI) –
V. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.
V. Has risen, as he said,
alleluia.
R. Pray for us to God, alleluia.
V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary,
alleluia.
R. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.
Let us pray. O God, who gave joy to the
world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we
beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the
joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
X WE FLY TO THY PROTECTION –
We fly to Thy protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O Glorious and Blessed Virgin.
X PRAYER TO ST MICHAEL -
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.
