A big thank you to everyone who helped steward, light candles, welcome people in, make teas or coffee or just chat to people. This was a moving connection with the community in our parish with many new visitors including those of other religions who took the opportunity to pray for humanity, peace and negotiation to prevail. Early figures indicate we have also raised over £650 towards the CAFOD/CARITAS/DEC appeal towards helping our aid agencies on the ground with the situation in Ukraine and at the borders.
You can still
donate to the appeal at https://cafod.org.uk/Give/Donate-to-Emergencies/Ukraine-Humanitarian-Appeal

X CONSECRATION OF RUSSIA AND UKRAINE TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
Following heartfelt statements from the Holy Father and Church leaders around the world for an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine, and in reference to Our Lady of Fatima’s request in 1917 for the consecration of Russia, Pope Francis will consecrate both countries to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Friday 25th March, the Feast of the Annunciation.
He will be joined by bishops from around the world, including Archbishop John Wilson, who will celebrate an act of consecration in St George’s Cathedral, Southwark at 4.00pm on that day.
All are welcome to join Archbishop Wilson in person, or can take part in the service remotely via live-stream: https://youtu.be/yMpsyai1hV8
